🔪 Summer Grilling, Fishing & Camping Season Is Here — Protect Every Blade in Your Kit
The 6" Blade Guard™ is the mid-range workhorse of the camp kitchen and the boat galley — the size that covers the utility knives, boning knives, and fillet knives you reach for most often. Unlike open-top guards that rely on friction and can let a blade slide out when jostled in a backpack, tackle bag, or cooler, the Blade Guard™ fully encloses the blade with secure locking tabs that stay closed until you deliberately open them.
Made in the USA from BPA-free, food-safe polypropylene. Dishwasher safe. Frosted so you can see the blade inside without opening the guard.
“At first I thought it was bulky to carry. As soon as I closed it over the knife and heard it snap closed — I was hooked.”
— Capt. Colin McCarthy, Living on Island Time Fish Charter
Uses Blade Guard on his Dexter fillet knife — now throws it in his bag and travels safely.
⚠️ Why locking matters: Open-top guards rely on friction to stay on. In a tackle bag, cooler, or RV drawer, that friction can fail when the knife shifts or gets jostled. The Blade Guard™ locking tabs — backed by two rubber stops — keep the blade fully enclosed under pressure, vibration, and movement — the way a guard should work on the water and off.
Boat captains and serious outdoor cooks typically run the 4", 6", and 8" together — paring, fillet, and chef's knife covered. The Blade Guard™ 4-Piece Chef's Set includes all four sizes in one box at the best per-guard price. Carry everything in the Waxed Canvas Knife Roll — water-resistant and built for the water and the outdoors.

I have been very happy with my Tomato Craters. They were easy to install and have helped keep the area around my plants neat and weed-free. My tomatoes have stayed healthy and productive all season, and watering has been much more efficient. Great product for any vegetable garden!
I am always skeptical of new products, but whoever designed this certaily thought thru the actual installation. I've had wood trellises replaced year after year because the weather (mostly water) beats them up, and I spend gobs on trying to keep my plants the way I like them. As avid vegetable and flower gardener, these make the installation of stakes and trellises so easy and keeps the wood preserved. Kudo's - great design.
I managed to install the rain gauge just before a storm. It worked great! Our garden is so happy!
I took some roses from a flower arrangement, and stuck them 8” into soil. Then, I watered with MitoGrow. Now I have cut roses growing in my backyard!

We camp every summer and have used cardboard to protect our sharp knives and our fingers, but have had multiple close calls (from getting cut). So we purchased the 4-piece set of these blade guards and are impressed the safe, non-slip design. The blade does not rattle in an enclosed shell, but rather is held snuggly in the case by two tight pads on both sides of the blade (4 total pads, see photo). Another reviewer mentioned that the guard is hard to open, but that is because the blade is held tightly, which we like. If you are looking to protect your knives (and your fingers!), buy these guards. KB
This product is great working outside. Held cords together when cleaning out boat.
These are probably among the easiest and most effective garden tools that you can use. They store easily, they install easily, they perform great--making it easy to water, keep out bugs and weeds and increase your yield with no chemicals. I only used them for my tomatoes this year, but next year, will use them for other plants as well. My tomatoes are in raised beds and they are thriving and full of fruit thanks to the craters!
Also - you can't beat the customer service at FLI. They are responsive, quick to ship and very customer centered. All in all, a great find.
The first photo below shows two of my plants just after planting and adding the craters. The other three are recent photos.
